If you don't hear from me for a while

Consider it a good sign.

If all goes as planned, we will be frantically cleaning, painting, packing, and relocating. We will mostly likely be without internet and our free time sucked dry. I will try to update when appropriate and hopefully I won't make myself crazy, as I tend to do.

It is all good, just stressful. Hopefully I'll build some upper body strength with all these boxes.

T - 36 hours

We will own a home again in about 36 hours.

Poor Trout is stressed out beyond belief. I was this past week, since we only got the for sure on our loan on THURSDAY! Good god. It always works out in the end, it ALWAYS does, yet the canker sores on my tongue from stress beg to differ. And the migraines, ugh.

We will have our final walk through tomorrow where I'll take a few more pictures. If you aren't on Flickr, I have most of the Country House pictures here.

Summer is here and the boy is sick. Not as bad as last time, but we slept most of the day away. I guess I was due for some sleep catch up because I took two naps with him. Poor little guy. He's probably been awake for a total of 4 hours all day.

Updates

Right now the loan application is off being picked apart by underwriters, then sent off to HUD in Denver. This is the last hurdle is getting actual approval. We qualified for this loan with our other house, but given the times you never know.

Oh yeah, I am also being furloughed for 8 days this upcoming year. What's a furlough, you ask?Fancy way of saying laid off without qualifying for unemployment. It was only a matter of time that state employees got hit.

So, the days I am taking for furlough will be used either working on our CSA farm, learning some other skill that will save me money, or teach me a new skill that can help make money in other ways. I'm calling it the Furlough Project, which is a snappy title, I know.

Home inspection!

Later today we will have a home inspection on Country House. This part is always a doozy for me. The last time around Trout and I were present for the whole thing. Every comment (even if an observational comment) sent my head spinning, "OMG, what does that mean? Is this house a death trap?" Needless to say I will be meeting up with the inspector and Trout towards the end. While things are still starting to finalize each to-do we go through relieves my anxiety 12907430 times more. I'm kind of a worry wort. You plunk down lots of money in a short amount of time. Paper work needs to be submitted. Our loan has to be sent to Denver to be approved, etc, etc. While I am normally good at this type of thing, rarely are the ramifications of missing a beat losing out on a home.

Outside of the house stuff...

A sick boy and his dada rocking in the wee hours before dada goes to work.

I neglected to talk about taking Bubs to the hospital because he had the flu and started to refuse liquids. Puking most of the day then not drinking in little ones = fail at life if not rectified. Not fun. It was all a bit ridiculous anyway. We went to the walk-in (or Urgent care, whatever you want to call it) and they said, "Yeah, he needs fluids/IV. But we close in 20 minutes." So off to the ER we went. Did it ever occur to anyone that more people might not use the ER as their primary doctor if the walk-in was open longer? They close a 7 pm!

So poor Bubs had to get an IV in his foot. Since he is used to getting poked it wasn't so bad, but they have to make a huge production with the taping to keep little fingers off.


He did really well and definitely perked up after half a bag of saline. They almost pumped a whole bag into him since they wanted a urine sample. After a while they said forget it. But he peed right before we left.

Then came the diarrhea. Good lord the diarrhea.

Accepted! Sort of...

The house we put an offer on is part of a divorce. So, one owner accepted our offer, but the other was unavailable to be contacted today. So, I say our offer was tentatively accepted, but not officially. We'll know for sure on Monday.

Good lord.

For the love of Christmas...

They countered, so we countered back. Ugh. My blood pressure is slowly rising! Especially since we were told the property has been shown some this week and has a lot of showings this weekend. I realize that a showing does not equal an offer, but since we lost out on the previous place I'm paranoid. We'll know tomorrow their response. I'm not cut out for this!
